The Brief
The Problem
The Solution
Design a well-informed proposal that explores how we might re-engage and instil passion within education methods to help students flourish.
In the context of a digitally dependent society where technological devices have the potential to become a social ‘crutch’, how might we foster healthy cognitive and social development in children aged 4-12?
PlaySpot is an interactive Near Field Communication post which stimulates and facilitates real life play and interactions for children. By establishing NFC posts in parks and areas around the suburbs of Sydney, children are encouraged to scan digital devices and receive game prompts.
These prompts act as a guide to facilitate connections between children by suggesting multi-person games such as:
-
Using the park space, play hide and seek
-
Using the play equipment, pretend the floor is lava
-
Make up your own clapping game
Once children tap onto the code, they will be directed to a webpage, where they will be prompted to hit the play button and can begin playing games with the other kids around them.
