The Constellation Project | Measuring Short-term Impact
The Brief
TCP have set themselves the ambitious goal of ending homelessness in Australia in a generation. In this context, how do we measure success in the early years? How do you identify the right lead indicators? How do you stay agile when conditions change? The challenge is to shift into measuring impact.
The Problem
The Solution
In light of TCP’s long term goal of achieving functional zero, how might we develop agile tools to measure the short term impact as a result of their projects?
Since TCP is operating within a larger system of organisations working towards a broad goal, (i.e. Australian Red Cross, Centre for Social Impact, Mission Australia, and PwC Australia) the strength of the collaboration both internally (within TCP and its volunteers) and externally (other organisations, investors) is the lead indicator in measuring the success of TCP in early years. We have devised measurement tools that can be applied across TCP’s collaborative program, which can be used as a means for visualising, presenting and hypothesising short-term impact.
